To everyone acting like tipping rules are written in stone, let’s talk about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I had a $612 dinner bill, and suddenly I’m “supposed” to leave over $120 just because the total was higher?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Same plates carried, same drinks refilled, same amount of time at the table \u2014 but somehow the menu prices decide the server’s pay?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I left $9. That’s still real money for a couple hours of service. But the mood shifted immediately, like I’d broken some unspoken law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then the manager came over talking about “industry standards,” as if that settles the whole debate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since when does a more expensive meal automatically mean more effort? If I order a $50 entr\u00e9e instead of a $20 one, does the plate suddenly weigh more?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I do tip for good service. But I don’t think a tip should automatically become a percentage-based surcharge just because the restaurant charges more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So honestly \u2014 is that fair, or have we just gotten too used to it to question it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u670d\u52a1\u5458\u7aef\u4e00\u6837\u7684\u76d8\u5b50\u3001\u7eed\u4e00\u6837\u7684\u9152\u6c34\u3001\u5728\u684c\u524d\u670d\u52a1\u65f6\u957f\u5b8c\u5168\u76f8\u540c \u2014\u2014 \u51ed\u4ec0\u4e48\u83dc\u54c1\u5b9a\u4ef7\u9ad8\u4f4e\uff0c\u51b3\u5b9a\u670d\u52a1\u5458\u8be5\u62ff\u591a\u5c11\u916c\u52b3\uff1f<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u6211\u7559\u4e86 9 \u7f8e\u5143\u5c0f\u8d39\uff0c\u8fd9\u597d\u6b79\u4e5f\u662f\u5b9e\u6253\u5b9e\u7684\u73b0\u91d1\uff0c\u5bf9\u5e94\u51e0\u5c0f\u65f6\u7684\u670d\u52a1\u3002\u53ef\u5e97\u91cc\u6c14\u6c1b\u77ac\u95f4\u5c31\u53d8\u4e86\uff0c\u4eff\u4f5b\u6211\u89e6\u72af\u4e86\u67d0\u79cd\u4e0d\u6210\u6587\u7684\u89c4\u77e9\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n
